Why do you tell us to consume milk, chicken, and beef without their fat? People have been consuming animal foods with their fat for millenia without a problem. If we were meant to consume lean animal protein, then nature would have produced them that way.

@Bill, yes, whey and casein can be combined without any effects. As far as published reports, a good reference is The Protein Book, which has over 600 references to scientific journals.

I have a question about whey and casein protein. I gather they are different (whey, greater anabolic per weight protein; no anti-catabolic, fast absorbing; casein - slower absorbing, less anabolic per weight; and more anticatabolic).

In a situation where a person needs greater anabolic and anticatabolic, can whey and casein be combined? Is there publishd evidence for this? Do whey and casein interact in a negative way?

What about nuts. This article does not address the role of nuts, and neither do a couple others I have seen. And what about grains and legumes? I try to get a lot of variety in my diet, and I am looking to see if there are optimal usages for each sort (after a workout I usually have half a can of tuna, a small yogurt, a handful or nuts and usually some salad, perhaps in a tortilla, that includes beans or chick peas). But I am trying to determine if I should be more strategic.
