TrackandFieldRadio .com - I DARE YOU TO RUN

April 17, 2008 by Jimson Lee

I had the pleasure of working out once with Decathlete Phil McMullen during my years at Berkeley, California. It was a pretty intensive speed endurance workout, and I’m sure glad he didn’t invite me to practice the field events!

On the other hand, his brother Paul McMullen is well known for winning the 1996 US Olympic trials in the 1500 meters. Despite losing part of his foot in a lawn mowing accident a year later, he still made a comeback and placed 3rd at the 2001 USA Nationals earning a berth to the IAAF World Championships.

The latter incident made him more “famous” as being the fastest 8 toed miler in the world.

So what does this article have to do with Paul McMullen?

Trackandfieldradio.com was launched over 2 years ago and never really took off.

They had a DVD for sale and 1500 meter runner Paul McMullen’s videos has now surfaced on YouTube. Isn’t everything on YouTube these days? I prefer Blip.tv for the higher quality.

In any case, here are the inspiring 3 part videos from YouTube (Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3)
