Video of Speedo LZR Racers Controversy
July 12, 2008 by Jimson Lee
Speedo is the official sponsor for Team USA and Team Canada, among others.
This story is no different than the 1984 Olympics when the American dominated cycling (both road and track) with the solid black spoke-less wheels and “conehead” helmets that looked like a Saturday Night live skit.
Needless to say, the Americans also dominated the cycling events because of the Russian and Eastern Block boycott!
Shades of Mark Spitz and 1972
When Mark Spitz won his first few Gold medals, reporters asked about his mustache. He replied, “it helps divert the water away from my mouth so I can breath better”
To that remark, I’ll bet the rest of the world, including women, were trying to grow a mustache overnight.
By the way, the video is from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and YouTube has partnered with them. Yes, CBC on YouTube!
They quoted, “CBC/Radio-Canada is Canada’s national public broadcaster and one of its largest cultural institutions. CBC/Radio-Canada is available now, where, and when Canadians want it.”
I say, “Bring back the Beachcombers on TV!”
