Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Updates on iDashboards
August 16, 2008 by Jimson Lee
A week ago, I posted Olympic Results Tracking by iDashboards.
So a busy week has gone by, and again I checked the medal standings (click on the above iDashboards image).
I’ve been checking the results on a daily basis, but so far CANADA has won 0 medals.
Zero. Zilch. Nada. Goose Egg. Nothing.

After watching the Men’s Shot Put for 5 rounds, I was so sure local BC star Dylan Armstrong would win the bronze medal.
American Christian Cantwell threw 21.09 in the last round to place 2nd, and bumped Dylan’s 21.05 to 4th place. 21.06 was 3rd. Yes, Dylan lost the bronze by 1 cm!
What happened to Adam Nelson? I was hoping his hypnosis would help him win that Gold medal!
Shades of Yesterday, Thoughts for Tomorrow?
What happened to our Swimming powerhouse from the 80’s? Our Rowers? Our Sprinting dominance from 1996 Olympic Games? Are other countries advancing faster than Canada, or is Canada’s priorities different than most countries?
On another note, the last time I checked, Ice Hockey is in the Olympic Winter Games, but it should be held in the summer because:
1) it is held in indoor arenas
2) we wouldn’t have to worry about the NHL break in February
Ice Hockey and Basketball Professional seasons run very parallel, separated by a few weeks, so why not? At least we would win a medal in the Summer Games!
The Games aren’t over yet. I’ll check back in a few days with the medal count.
