And it wasn’t in Europe. It was set at Icahn Stadium, the state-of-the-art facility on New York’s Randall’s Island.

400 Meters – Speed is the Key

May 25, 2009 by Jimson Lee

Gone are the days where the 400 meters was an event for 800 meter runners who moved down in distance.
Today, I am convinced the short sprinters have an advantage over the “strength” sprinters like Lee Evans and Butch Reynolds.  I am referring to the successes of Quincy Watts and Michael Johnson.  In MJ’s case, my […]

150 Meter Fly Time to Project your 400 Meters

May 24, 2009 by Jimson Lee

Can you use your 150 meter fly time in practice to determine your 400 meter performance?  A 150 fly is simply running 160 meters and timing the last 150m.
Yes and No.
First it would be scary to consider Usain Bolt’s 14.35 150 meter fly time which is probably around 13.35 subtracting 1 second for acceleration out […]

It was 2 Years Ago Today - Speedendurance Turns 2

May 21, 2009 by Jimson Lee

Speedendurance went live on May 21, 2007. That was Victoria Day in Canada (or La fête de Dollard-des-Ormeaux in Quebec)

So today marks the 2 year anniversary.

This site has helped hundreds of personal bests, seasons bests, and Masters “age category” bests over the past 2 years. And I don’t plan on slowing down either […]

May 21, 2009 by Jimson Lee

By now, the world has watched and digested the video footage from the great Manchester 150.
The splits en route were 9.90 for the first 100 meters, and 8.72 for the last 100m.
Any 5th grader can deduct the following:

0-50m = 5.63
50-100m = 4.27
100-150m = 4.45

This is in contrast to Donovan Bailey’s 1997 indoor […]

Usain Bolt Coming to Canada, Eh?

May 10, 2009 by Jimson Lee

That means paying some cash for guys who can run 10.10 or faster.

What are they going to do? Get some locals who run 10.30 or 10.60?

Here is their press release:

PRESS RELEASE […]
