USATF Level 1 School, Orange County Feb 18-19 2012

posted on February 2, 2012

My good friend Eric Dixon who just completed the USATF/IAAF Level 5 Academy is heading the Level 1 USATF school in Orange County Feb 18-19 2012.

The minimum coaching level you need regardless of your country affiliation is a Level 1 certification.  Consider it the High School diploma of Track and Field.  It’s a stepping stone to higher education and work experience.  You must have both.

I took my Level 1 USATF in 2003 with Dave Schrock, and he’ll be one of the instructors in this course.

In the late 1990s our understanding of the human body changed… Did your coaching strategies and methods change with it?  The more we learn about the human body the more we need to update the way we coach our kids. We owe it to our Young Athletes to do it right!

Now’s the time to get updated on the latest in coaching training, strategies and methods…

USA Track & Field Level 1 School: 18-19 February, 2012

at Orange Coast College, Coast Mesa, CA.

This is a comprehensive track and field training consisting of 21 hours of instructions focused on the events of track & field and related sport science. The Level 1 program covers all events by emphasizing Training in:

Sports Science segment:

  • Training Theory
  • Psychology
  • Bio-mechanics
  • Ethics
  • Physiology
  • Bio-motor Training for the Speed and Power Events
  • Risk Management
  • Philosophy

Event Training segment:

  • Sprints Events
  • Endurance Events
  • Race walking
  • Hurdle Events
  • Jumping Events
  • Basic fundamentals rules and more
  • Relay Events
  • Throwing Events

Please consider attending or sending your assistants to the Orange County Level 1 School.  If you send four or more of your staff, please contact Eric Dixon for the staff rate of $100 each.

Excellent! I really should put an “Events and Conferences” on the top navigation bar.
