October 6, 2010 by Jimson Lee

If you enjoyed the last contest, then you will like this one.  This time we are giving away a pair of Brooks running shoes courtesy from the good folks at Brooks and Team BILBO.   “BILBO” stands for Brooks Innovation Laboratory for Biomechanical Observation.

Unlike other fixed prizes, YOU get to pick the size, color, and style of any pair of Brooks running shoes.

Contest rules:  All you have to do is either:

  1. watch the short video below (under 3 minutes) and comment on the latest SAC Technology, or
  2. comment why you need these running shoes, and if the latest SAC Technology can help you.

That’s it.  No strings attached (except running shoe laces, which are technically strings).

Please keep the comments clean as this is a family friendly site!

You must enter a valid email address in the blog comments, as that will be the address I use to contact you if you win.  A random entry will be chosen using Random.org.  Contest ends Wednesday Oct 13, 2010 at midnight PDT.

Since staff members of SpeedEndurance (which is only myself) are not eligible to win the prize, I would suggest choosing the latest (and greatest) Brooks Glycerin 8 if you win.

Here is the video on YouTube.  Good Luck, or as they say in Italy, Buono Fortuna.

Looks really good for runners with average and unique builds alike. Can’t wait to try them (if I win).

    Hello Jimson,

Thanks for having another give-away contest. For free no less!

I need the Brooks Glycerin 8 running shoes because they are not part my current runner’s tool box. My daily rotation includes Nike, Adidas, Asics and Saucony running shoes, but Brooks is missing from the line-up.

Thank you and good luck to all.

    Hi Jimson,

The Brooks SAC technology sounds really interesting. I’m in my late 40s and have been running for the past couple years. I ran my first 5K last summer. I have fallen in love with the sport. I wish I would have started when I was younger!

As I now try to increase my speed and distance, I’ve been trying to challenge myself in my training schedule. I’ve been reading everything I can get my hands on about running, running form, shoes, etc. including this blog. :)

I have Nike, Vibram 5 finger and Asics Gel. I would love to try the Brooks SAC Technology as the concept of cushioning that adjusts to my size, gait, etc as a I train sounds very promising!!! Just reading about them motivates me to keep on running!

    Thanks!
    Cheryl

I could use new running shoes, and these shoes look great. I been having runners knee and hopefully these shoes can help cure the problem.

As a masters decathlete, it is difficult finding the right shoe for various workouts. A Brooks shoe with SAC technology looks like it would be the right fit.

That video is so bizarre. I want to try these shoes by running on water. I think I’ll sink but my feet will feel great.

I have always been a fan of the Asics gel system, but would love to give a Brooks shoe with SAC technology a try. Looks like a very innovative concept.

Brooks with SAC Technology sounds good to use in my next general preparation phase in early November as well as my indoor season in march progressing through the outdoor season and warming up with it at the national trials ahead of Daegu.

The SAC Technology in the Brooks Running Shoes looks sensational and i would like to experiance this technology for my athletes i train to enable not only peek performance from them but also reduce the effects of injury due to poor cusioning support in the impact levels endured through the intense trainig undertaken. I Personally look for everything possible to enhance and promote great peek performance with minimal to zero injury levels and then promote the products to all i am affiliated with. As a speed strength conditioning coach working with athletes i would like to experience the technology within the Brooks SAC and promote your product.

I supposedly need a hip replacement, but refuse to quit runner entirely (I have scaled back). I would love a new pair of Brooks, especially with the technologically advanced cushioning.

    Dear Jimson/Speed Endurance,

I think i need/deserve the runners because i am 15 and i’m not that tall, in the video it shows that shoes are built for mid size runners and i’m on the short side. So often runners don’t work well at all for me and it’s a constant battle to get comfort and ease in my running.

With the Brooks Glycerin 8 i would be able to run with ease and comfort because in the video it says that the shoe adapts itself to your foot and this would be soooo awesome for me.

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Jimson

I am currently training in Ascis gel, and keep getting injured, I have tried a number of different shoes and always suffer problems with my shins/calfs. I feel that the Brooks SAC tech could be my answer.

    Thanks

    Dear Sir,

When i was watching the vedio of Brooks SAC , i had noticed that they made this shoes with the help of nature, and our nature is a creation of super natural power ie. ‘GOD’. So most of the beautiful and excellant things in this universe are made by the sciencetist after taking idea’s from the ‘NATURE’. In my opinon this Brook’s SAC technolgy will do wonder the field of sports.

    Thanks.

    Jimson,
the Brooks SAC system looks interesting and I would be keen to try these (should I win) to compare these with other shoes I have worn such as Asics and New Balance but more importantly against the barefoot which is touted as the most natural way to run.

A friend of mine is doing research into “The effect of footwear on sensori-motor factors within the body and relationship for the prevention of injuries” so I would show them to him to get his opinion, and let you know what he thinks. His general view is the softer and more expensive the shoe the worse it is!

    Regards

    John – New Zealand

If this cushioning system can do what it claims it may as well be the holy grail. The choice has always been cushioning versus energy return, choose one and you sacrifice the other. Adding to that one must also choose shoes based on their foot shape and biomechanics, sometimes the best fitting shoe doesn’t provide the right level of cushioning. This new material could be a great advancement for runners.

    Hi Jimson,
right now I’m just looking for a new pair of shoes for the start of the season and the Brooks SAC system looks interesting and I would be keen to try it…

But mostly I’m happy because after almost a year of difficult attendance of your fantastic site for server issues and subsequent weekly transfers on relatives or friends pc, everything is suddenly magically back in place!

The video showed that traditional shoes are made for the regular sized person and with BROOKS Adaptive technology it adapts to each runner, height, weight, etc.
I need these shoes, I own one pair of running shoes. They are beyond worn when I trained for my 5kraces. I’d like to try a pair that’s made for me.

I would like to run my first marathon with a new pair of shoes. So far I’ve ran a 5k and a 10k. I need a good pair of running shoes to prevent injuries to this “amateur” runner. I usually get my sneakers from Marshalls and TJ Maxx

What fantastic technology and what innovative people they are at Brooks…finally, a company who acknowledges that no two people are alike, especially when it comes to feet! After years spending a small fortune on various runners, none of which have blown me away, I hope to win here…and if they are anywhere as good as the blurb…well, I’ll be singing their praises as I run by!

I always chose the best stability shoes that i am after and i want nothing but the best, here are some recommendations that to find the best pair.

Various running shoe brands came up with their own entrants to the stability shoe contest, and brooks always the best. It takes many kms and best for all distances. I need this pairs.

Watched Video, it was funny. “non-Newtonian substance” Wow! SAC technology?? I don’t know about all them fancy words, but I have been using brooks since 1978 when I wore a pair of Brooks training shoes (white and blue) and set my PR in the High School 330 Intermediate Hurdles.
I have worn Adrenaline since adrenaline Six through Ten, not so much because of the fancy scientific names given to them by marketing departments, but because they feel good on my feet and I haven’t suffered any injuries.
I hope to win the a new pair with Non-Newtonian SAC technology LOL
