Talk about slicing the bologna thin!

Christophe Lemaitre produced yet another a new French National record and personal best for the 100m after clocking 9.92secs to win France’s National Championships.

However, the wind was a suspicious +2.0 m/s.  I know many years back meet directors would have someone stand in front of the wind gauge during the race only.  Or, hairspray was another tactic used to “slow down” the wind readings.  Don’t believe everything you see.

Last week at the Diamond League meeting in Monaco, he finished fifth in 10.03 secs.

Fast forward to 2:25 to jump directly to the race.

Well Mr Lee i dont see it so rare.
In theory Lemaitre was a little injuried and running against very good runners in Monaco,it is pression too.
His 10.03 is about 9.98 with 2.0 wind easily.
So if his body was better yesterday, he ran with bad runners compared with him, without pression and with hurricane 2.0, a possible 9.92 is not very rare.

    Regards

      Lemaitre is pretty darn consistent! 10.00, 9.96,? 9.95, 9.95, 10.03, 9.92… what’s in store for Daegu?

Yes Sr Lee i think that in this moment Lemaitre is consistent in about 9.95 with wind about 1.0.
what time could he get in Daegu?I would tell if he get final around 9.90-9.95 with minimum 1.0 wind and thinking that he could get his peak of this season there.

    Regards Mr Lee

I’d love to see him get a medal. I like his style (personality that is, not so much running technique) and believe he will medal at olympics if he stays injury free. This guy shocks me in each and every race, he is very exciting to watch. Note how far down he was at 10m. He didnt lead untill 50m. Could go 9.8x??

@Paul, I think he will medal in the 200m at WC if he sticks only to the 200m.

Mr Lee, i dont think that Lemaitre is very tired after run series and final 100m in Daegu, and this year the level in 200m is very low, If Lemaitre get 19.9x or 20.0x probably he would get medal…

I do not believe Mr Lemaitre will do much in the 100m in this years World Championships. This is just my opinion but I think all of the races he has this year in addition to the rounds at Worlds will make him better for NEXT year at the Olympics.

I dont even see him making the finals in the 100m, he’s DEFINATELY consistent but can he hold unto that or even improve on that in 2+ weeks from now?

I hope that no matter what this year will make him only beter for next year when he DOES make the 100m final.

@Fred, this is posted the day before the 100m heats. With Tyson Gay, Mike Rodgers, Steve Mullings and Asafa Powell OUT, I think Lemaitre has a shot at the medals. Anyone else agree/disagree?

@Jimson, heck yea! The tables have definately turned in favor for Lemaitre reaching the 100m finals and he if he makes it while running ‘easy’ in the rounds he just might medal as well. Either way I’m looking forward to watching every single minute of the WC’s on the Universal Sports website.

And thank you for what you on Speedendurance.com it is appreciated more than words can describe.
