Oregon22 Coaches Club now Online

March 13, 2023 by Jimson Lee

Last summer's 2022 World Championships in Eugene are now a distant memory. Good memories, however, but in no particular order... Tobi, Mondo, Sydney, Noah, Canada's 4x100 relay... it was a wonderful 10 days of competition. It was also 10 consecutive days of the Coaches Club. Early mornings for … [Read more...] about Oregon22 Coaches Club now Online

My 8 step PLYOMETRIC workout from Beginners to Advanced

May 3, 2021 by Jimson Lee Leave a Comment

What is the High Jump World Record by Height Differential?

July 20, 2015 by Jimson Lee 2 Comments

When Usain Bolt ran 9.58 with a +0.9 tailwind, the calculators adjusted his actual time to 9.63 (using wind and altitude). Justin Gatlin's recent 9.78 (-0.3) in Monaco was adjusted to 9.76.  (Yes, he can go 9.69 on Beijing in a perfect race and slight tailwind with Usain Bolt!  Let the haters … [Read more...] about What is the High Jump World Record by Height Differential?

Single Day Icosathlon World Record

June 29, 2015 by Jimson Lee Leave a Comment

The icosathlon is simply a Double Decathlon, formerly known as the “Double Deca”. It can be held on one day, or two days. When you think about it, Track and Field has 19 events without relays.  So what’s the 20th event?  A Race walk? It’s the 200m low hurdles (3rd event in Day 1).  I guess the … [Read more...] about Single Day Icosathlon World Record

48 Best Interviews for Speed, Strength Training, Recovery & Inspiration

May 16, 2014 by Jimson Lee Leave a Comment

If I can make one quote about this blog, it would be from Issac Newton. If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants There is no way I would have the knowledge (and share the knowledge to you) if it weren’t for my previous coaches, as well asking questions to the smartest … [Read more...] about 48 Best Interviews for Speed, Strength Training, Recovery & Inspiration

June 21, 2013 by Jimson Lee 3 Comments

There was a video going viral on Kenyan High Jumping.  The “appeal” was two athletes using non convention high jumping techniques (not the Straddle nor Flop) and the bar “appeared” very high.  Plus no fancy crash mat... just sand from the old days! A closer look at the video shows the bar was … [Read more...] about Can You Guess this High Jump Technique?
