JOIN ME this Tuesday February 15th when Kevin Tyler, Mike Hurst, and myself will host a Zoom Webinar on everything 400 meters. There is no cost, and it will be recorded for those who can’t make it.

Connecting this global initiative was a challenge, with Mike in Australia, Kevin in the USA, and myself in London England.

Join us for a in-depth look at the 400m. Everything from training, racing, analysis, and much more!

I know the timings aren’t good for the Americas, but if this discussion or webinar is successful, I promise we’ll have more. We’re going live at 9am UK time, 10am Europe (CEST), and 8pm Australia (AEST).

Who is Mike Hurst?

As a coach, Mike coached Australian sprinters to qualify for five consecutive Olympic Games (1980 Moscow to 1996 Atlanta). Two of his protégés, Maree Holland and Darren Clark, set Australian records and were 400m finalists at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

As a journalist (now retired), he covered 6 Olympics (1984-2004), 9 World Champs (1983-2003), and 7 Commonwealth Games (1974, 1982-2002).

Mike has contributed several articles, videos, and podcasts on this Blog, and it can all be found here: https://speedendurance.com/tag/mike-hurst/

He also coached Paul Dedewo when he placed 2nd behind Noah Lyles in his 300m 31.87 WB (Paul’s 31.92 is now #4 all time with Steven Gardiner’s recent 31.56 on Jan 28, 2022)

Kevin was the Sports Marketing Manager Running for Nike Canada.  Later, he moved to Edmonton to become the Director of The Canadian Athletics Coaching Centre.  It was here where he guided Tyler Christopher to a 44.44 at the 2005 World Championships. (Tyler also won the World Indoor 400m in 2008 Valencia). In 2009, he became the Strategic Head of Coaching and Development for UKA until December 2012.
