Daniel St-Hilaire first introduced me to subliminal tapes back in 1985. His list of successful athletes include sprinters Bruny Surin and Nicolas Macrozonaris, as well as High Jumper Alain Metellus (2.28m).

Currently, he is the Center Coach for Athletics Canada at the National Training Centre in Montreal and can be reached at here.

At the time, I didn’t appreciate fully the advantages of using subliminal tapes, but later in life I found meditating to these tapes very helpful in getting a deeper sleep. For a better sleep, please read my article on The Best Method to Sleep using your REM cycle.

Guest Blogger Dennis Stokes has this to say on changing your life by listening to a subliminal tapes:

Have you ever wondered how you can make dramatic powerful changes in your life?

Would you like to be happier? Overcome addictions? Create more wealth?

These things can happen by listening to your own subliminal tape or CD. In this article I will talk about our thoughts and how we can affect our minds in a powerful positive way.

By listening to a subliminal tape or CD you can achieve this. So with that, let’s start off with our thoughts and how they affect us.

What we think is how we act

Researchers have found that most beliefs about yourself are lodged in your preconscious mind. Thoughts, judgements and feelings are ceaselessly swirling through your mind. Every action that you take has first been preceded by thought.

I challenge you to think of any action in your life that hasn’t first been thought about and even acted out in your mind many times before the actual action was taken. These thoughts can be positive or negative. Negative, distracting thoughts are actually affirmations working against us. Positive constructive thoughts lead us to where we want to go and who we want to become.

Now that we have established how thoughts can affect us for the good and bad, let’s talk about how a subliminal tape or CD may help us.

Subliminals and the Sub Conscious

So how does a subliminal tape work? Subliminal is defined as: “Not rising above the threshold of consciousness; designed to act on the mind at a subconscious level. Subliminal messages on tape or CD work by presenting your subconscious mind with a set of positive statements that will, with enough repetition, produce corresponding subconscious beliefs. These beliefs then become new programming, which is carried out automatically and becomes your experience and reality.

Powerful positive affirmations can eliminate negative energy and promote positive thoughts and virtues that create actions and outcomes that I’m sure you are desparately seeking.

So we talk about affirmations being powerful but what exactly are they and how can they influence you?

Affirmations

Affirmations are sentences about something that you desire to get or achieve, and which are repeated often in order to enter the subconscious mind. Here they influence your thinking, behavior and habits. Affirmations are very powerful tools, so powerful in fact that they could seem to give miraculous results.

Affirmations are truly the key to getting yourself in line with what you want, need and desire in life. Affirmations are self-suggestions that have been refined to get the results that we want to experience.

In conclusion, to create change in our lives we need to affect our minds with empowering thoughts that are embedded at a subconscious level. What we think is how we act. Using subliminal technology by listening to an empowering subliminal tape or CD will go far in changing your life for the good forever.

The subconscious is such a fascinating area of study. And of course I love anything to do with self improvement. I may give these a go…

@Peter – I agree, athletes are always looking for that 1% legal edge, and I think the subliminal or subconscious can do wonders.
