I wonder if this has to do with the Tiger scandal?

  • Gatorade Tiger Focus is being discontinued to make room for newer 2010 innovation products.

  • Like all Food and Beverage companies, Gatorade discontinues certain product lines and that included Gatorade Tiger Focus in this year’s cut… yes, Tiger didn’t make the cut.

  • Apparently, this decision was made in mid-2009, and Gatorade informed their Sales and Marketing team, as well as select media (I was not one of them) in early November just prior to the Tiger Tabloids.

The market is hot with new mental alertness products containing Caffeine, Phenylalanine, and Nitric Oxide type products.  What’s next for Gatorade?

The beverage industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, and that includes bottled water!

And I don’t see the trend ending anytime soon.

Gatorade has high fructose corn syrup, a cheap sweetener that has dangers attached to it that the Corn Refiners Association would rather not have been knowing about. Here’s an article about it: http://organicconnectmag.com/wp/2010/05/the-impact-of-one-mans-outrage/. In the meantime, look for magnesium in sports drinks as a key element: http://naturalvitalitysports.com/2010/02/sports-drinks-the-missing-ingredient/
