Former Washington Redskins cornerback Darrell Green just turned 50 years old. He played for the Redskins from 1983-2002 which is quite a feat in longevity considering the NFL average of 4 years!
On his Twitter account, he claims to have run a 40-yard-dash in 4.43 seconds, and then claimed to be the fastest baby boomer alive!
We have no details if that was a hand time, semi-FAT (hand started, FAT finish), or fully FAT (electronic beam to start, FAT finish).
Are there any M40 sprinters willing to challenge him? 40 yards is approx 37 meters.
Here is the twitter snippet:
Quick update from the Birthday Boy:) I think today I became the fastest 50 year old in the world! @9AM today, I celebrated my 50th BDay…..
By running the 40 yard dash in Orlando, Florida in a time of 4.43! FYI, all born between 1946 -1964 are baby boomers…
I’m guessing that makes me the fastest baby boomer! I would say, that’s really booming. Are you?
Remember that he was a world class sprinter! Green’s all-time collegiate best in the 100 was 10.08, 20.50 in the 200 and 45.90 in the 400. So i will have to say that he is the real deal. I am a Cowboys fan, but the best thing i saw was him retire.
Darrell’s time is nonsense — regardless of his history.
My take:
