Usain Bolt equaled his season best of 9.91 in Ostrava today. En route, he ran a 9.14 100 yard split.
The official FAT (Fully Automatic Timing) World Record Best for 100 yards is 9.07 (wind -0.5) set by Asafa Powell in 2010. Prior to that. the WR WB was 9.21 set by Charlie Greene back in 1967. For historical purposes, the best hand time is 9.0 set by Ivory Crockett in 1974.
100 yards is 91.44 meters
Everyone wants to witness a world record. Winning isn’t enough for the average fans nowadays. I wrote about chasing obscure indoor world records two years ago.

I don’t Bolt will lose too much sleep over it seeing as he would’ve gone through 100yd in about 8.87 (90m 8.75)
But like you said the crowd likes to see any new marks – they’d have enjoyed watching Charley Paddock running all kinds of distances (75yd, 150yd, etc.)
Bolt misses 100 yard because “only” ran 9.91 hehe.
Of course who run 9.8 probably would break 9.07 Powell in 100 yards.
Yes,I imagine that Bolt in his record 9.58 he made about 8.87 in 100 yards like sad Nat
