I try to be unbiased and cover a variety of athlete’s and their respective shoe companies.  This gives everyone a chance to explain the different types of spikes and technology for their star athletes.  Shoe companies are a multi-billion dollar industry.

This video was produced prior to the 2010 Brussels Diamond League meet where we were expecting a 3 man showdown between Tyson Gay, Usain Bolt, and Asafa Powell.  We all know what happened.

The video provides an interesting look at the history behind Tyson Gay’s spikes (and uniform).  Note how his spikes has only 5 pins, and not 6 or 7 or even 10.

Previous articles (with videos) on different spike vendors include:

  • Asafa Powell Zoom Aerofly NIKE (NIKE)
