Gold Rush: Michael Johnson’s new Book

September 14, 2011 by Jimson Lee 2 Comments

In the USA: Gold Rush by Michael Johnson
In the UK: Gold Rush by Michael Johnson

If you like Michael Johnson’s first book, Slaying the Dragon: How to Turn Your Small Steps to Great Feats, you’ll probably enjoy this book.

Johnson has assembled his very own Olympic Hall of Fame in assessing the DNA of true champions.
Gold Rush is themed around chapters in which Johnson discusses each of the key qualities and factors that make a champion.

He gets testimonials from former Olympic Gold medalists building up a knowledge bank of expertise and experience from athletes who have reached the summit – an Olympic gold medal.

In a way, he copied the same format as Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers: The Story of Success (i.e. the 10,000 hour of repetitive practice to success)

Johnson’s interviewees include: Usain Bolt (whose Beijing 2008 annihilation is on the cover), Carl Lewis, Sally Gunnell, Seb Coe, Daley Thompson, Cathy Freeman, Ian Thorpe, Michael Phelps, Rebecca Adlington, Chris Hoy, Steve Redgrave, Matthew Pinsent, Lennox Lewis and Michael Jordan.

NOTE: It is currently only on sale from Amazon.co.UK.  American buyers will have to wait.
