Training for the 400 meters and circuit training go hand in hand.
That’s why when I “retired” from competitive track and field in 1993, the only workout that gave me satisfaction was the Concept II Rowing and weight training.
For some athletes like me, the endorphins from lactate workouts is better than drugs!
More recently, we had a freak snow storm in Rome which left me home bound for week. Our “track” (if you can call it that) was covered in snow with no hope of snow removal… just waiting for the sun and warm temperatures.
So what did I do?
Circuit Training!
Keeping Your 6-Pack
If you want to keep your six pack, do this:
My 4 minute workout, which is 8 sets of 20 sec on, 10 sec rest (i.e. Tabata protocol)
- Legs (squats.. about 20 reps)
- Abs (crunches.. about 30-40)
- Arms (pushups, about 20)
- Legs
- Abs
- Arms
- Legs
- Abs
That’s it.
Of course, you’ll eventually do 3 sets, so it’s really a 12 minute workout.
I use the GymBoss device for timing, and it’s only 20 bucks.
Do this every second day, and in 3 or 4 weeks, you’ll melt the pounds away.
It’s all about volume + intensity.
