Jessica Ennis Video: The 200m

August 4, 2012 by Jimson Lee Leave a Comment

Last night, whenever Jessica Ennis performed, the crowd noise was louder than a jet fighter plane at 120 decibels.  And her 200m last night on a lightning fast Mondotrack to cap off Day 1 of the Heptathlon was no different.

You can watch her race on TV or on YouTube, but nothing can capture the excitement of being there.

At the time of this writing, Jessica Ennis is leading by 188 points with one event left remaining (the 800 meters).  Can you imagine the noise when she wins?

To capture the excitement, atmosphere and noise, here is the final heat of the Woman’s 200m heptathlon with Jessica Ennis “winning” in 22.83 FAT, a personal best.  Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands also finished in 22.83 FAT but unlike an open race or Trials, the Heptathlon is all about points!  22.83 FAT is good for 1096 points.  No photo finish or coin-toss required!

Here is the video on my YouTube channel in HD.  Crank up the volume for true surround sound.
