Today, we all own smartphones with cameras that are significantly superior than your dedicated video camera many years ago. (I own an iPhone 12 Pro Max).
Yes, Dartfish is a paid subscription service, just like any other SAAS software like Dropbox or any premium Apple store / Google Play apps. Dartfish was one of the first video analysis software, and became a household name for coaches.
Just be aware of the differences between an “App” for your phone or tablet, vs full fledged software for your laptop or desktop. “Software” can be installed locally (i.e download) or run from “the Cloud” via a browser like Chrome or Safari. All flavours exists. I have reviewed a few in the past 16 years, but many (if not most) are now discontinued and out of date.
One example was the popular video analysis software Coach’s Eye, but it was retired recently in September 2022 by TechSmith.
If you can’t afford paid subscription software, you can always use the Free Kinovea!
As well, there is VueMotion which I will cover at a later date, or check out MOTION-IQ by ALTIS & VueMotion.
If you have a software analysis program you would like me to review or test drive, please let me know.
