What is your Favorite NCAA Track and Field Moment?

February 26, 2010 by Jimson Lee Leave a Comment

The producers of NCAA On Demand Track and Field have a nice selection from their archives.  This includes all the indoors and outdoors NCAA Championships.

What’s your Favorite NCAA Track and Field Moment?

If you are a Florida State Fan, or Walter Dix, surely it can’t be 2007!

Was it Xavier Carter’s 4 Gold medals, with 3 on the Final day and only 35 minutes between the 100 and 400?

If you recall, Xavier “X-man” Carter of Louisiana State University did a 100-400 double (plus the 4×400 later that day) set back in 2006.  In fact, he wanted to double up in the 200/400m but the schedule didn’t permit it.  So he chose 35 minutes between a 10.09 and 44.53.

Torrin Lawrence, are you taking notes?

For the Florida State (Mens) Seminoles, it was the first ever national title and the first of two consecutive championships.

Was it Jeremy Wariner’s 2004 Victory in the 400 meters?  He later won the Olympic Trials, followed by the Olympic Gold.  A perfect season, if you ask me.  And I won’t even ask how he managed to peak several times.  I know, he passed on the lucrative European circuit, that’s how!

Was it Darold Williamson’s come from behind victory in the 2004 indoor 4x400m?  Everyone loves dramatics in relays… except the coach!

I could go on… but I’ll let you decide.
