Join Richie Mercado, Nikos Apostolopoulos and myself every Wednesdays from 3-4pm CDT starting April 29th. (4pm EDT, 1pm PDT, 9pm UK time, 10pm Central Europe Daylight Time, etc.). This initial run will be for 8 weeks only.
This Presentation is 13 minutes, followed by Q&A on the comparison between PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) vs ELDOA (Fr) or LOADS (Eng).
French: Étirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptation Ostéo Articulaire; English: Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation Stretching
I think most track athletes with tight hamstrings knows what PNF stretching is. The image below is a popular scene at track meets and track practices around the world, especially youth meets.

With ELDOA, the body is is placed in a specific position, then fascial tension is then used to fix one segment of the targeted articulation while a contraction in extreme range moves the other segment away. Every athlete has their pwn definition of “maximal”. So with ELDOA or with myofascial stretching (MFS), it’s an active process.
