Usain Bolt opens his season running the 400m in 45.86 seconds.
I give him credit for giving an “honest effort" for the first 200 or 300 meters.
He splits 200m in 21.1 and 32.6 at 300m. His last 100m was run in 13.0.
21 flat is a very good split for elite 400 sprinters (check out splits from the 2009 World Championships).
But when your PR is 19.19, 21.1 is jogging with all that speed reserve!
Here is the video on YouTube.

Ridiculous … 45.86 and eased up last 10 meters, but it only makes senses. I would also like to point out it did not seem as he was pushing last 100, only floating to the finish line. With my to short to long mentality I have no doubt that he can do 42 change if he took the 400 seriously, if not faster, but lets get to 42 first…as I would say.
@Konrad – even if he ran 12.0 for the last 100m, that’s a 44.86 and one of the World leaders in the event.
