Being April 1st, it’s time for some lighter off-beat stories in the world of Track and Field or Coaching.  Last year, I wrote NOT an April Fools Joke – 5 True Stories About Me.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (or EMS for short) are not toys.  They are not machines.  They are not for making music videos.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation devices are instruments.  Special devices to send electric impulses for muscle contraction.

People think electrotherapy is mainly used for rehab, but it has several uses in everyday Training, Recovery, and Rehabilitation.  EMS is also NOT a shortcut for weight loss.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allows EMS devices for over the counter usage as long as it’s clearly marked as muscle toning and strength building.

But EMS is NOT for making music videos!
