Usain Bolt, plus all 3 Americans Walter Dix, Shawn Crawford, and Wallace Spearmon all advanced to the Finals in the Olympic 200 meters.

How Low can Bolt Go?

I don’t know many 15 year olds who can run sub 20.60. Plus, he’s been consistently sub-20 for the past 5 years.

I say put him in the 4x400m relay pool! Jamaica is currently ranked 3rd behind the USA and Bahamas.

But the Americans should win the 4x400m relay with their talent pool of 6 runners, including Angelo Taylor coming off his 47.25 victory in the 400m hurdles.

Usain Bolt 200 meter Progression

Note that his birthday is August 21, 1986, so the “age” below can be misleading by one year especially if he runs a SB in early August. You can’t argue 5 sub-20 years.

  • 14 years old, 2001 21.81
  • 15 years old, 2002 20.58 (World Juniors in Kingston)
  • 16 years old, 2003 20.13 (20.40 at the IAAF World Youth Athletics, Sherbrooke, Qc)
  • 17 years old, 2004 19.93
  • 18 years old, 2005 19.99
  • 19 years old, 2006 19.88
  • 20 years old, 2007 19.75
  • 21 years old, 2008 19.67 (… and the season is not over yet)

The video of the race will appear shortly on YouTube below.

UPDATE: YouTube and NBC Olympics are cracking down on illegal copies of this broadcast. Therefore, check back on this site in a few hours for the latest Video.
